Throwdown in T-Town Race Results
The end of the season race for OT5R had a pretty darn good turnout, we had 18 cars show for the final race at Tulsa Raceway Park in Outlaw 10.5, and the grandstands were PACKED! Some outstanding Fall air with very little water helped Todd Kitchen and Mike Kimmis break the both the ET & MPH records. Kitchen recorded his personal best ever pass, and new OT5R ET Record of 4.358 and Mike Kimmis streaked his Black Trans Am to a new MPH record of 177.67!! Rick Dean from Claremore, Oklahoma made his first appearance in OT5R with his Nitrous Powered 78' Camaro, and we're looking forward to seeing him at more races next year.
Mike Kimmis took home the win over Aaron York in the early Sunday Morning final round, however York's R/U didn't give him quite enough points to catch Steve George for the lead in the Points. So Steve George from Arnold, Missouri won the points championship with a commanding 40 point lead over York making him the 2011 OT5R Champion!
Congratulations to Mike Kimmis on the win, Aaron York on the R/U and to Steve George on the 2011 Points Championship!
Thanks everyone for participating in the 1st year of OT5R! We've learned a lot this season, and think the series has been a success at keeping the Outlaw Ten Five Class alive here in the Midwest!
OT5R Ozark Street Machine's Race Results
The 2011 Ozark Raceway Park Street Machines Race had 11 Outlaw Ten Five cars representing. Mike Kimmis led qualifying, with Aaron York in 2nd place going into eliminations. After a lengthy oil down in Limited Street, and a wreck in Pro Street the race was canceled in the 2nd round with Allan Wright & Steve George remaining in the field. The two split the final round for points & purse.
Steve George stretched out his points lead over Aaron York, he now holds a 42 point advantage. York can't rest easy in 2nd place either, with Allan Wright trailing by 42 points. The points have been tallied for this race and are available on the Points page.
Again no records were broken at this race and several members suffered from mechanical problems. Hopefully more OT5R members will be repaired and ready to rock and roll at the Throw Down in T-Town. With the cool Fall air coming in, both ET & MPH Records are up for grabs!
OT5R ORP Outlaw 10.5 Race Results
Steve George took home the win at the second OT5R Race at Ozark Raceway Park in Rogersville, MO July 2nd when he defeated Todd Kitchen in a surprise upset. Steve went to the final round with a hurt engine and was planning on just taking the tree to get the runner up, but in a stroke of luck for George, Kitchen got loose and nicked the centerline resulting in a DQ handing the final round win to Steve. OT5R had 6 cars show up for this race with work and broken cars getting in the way for a better attendance from the group.
No records were broken at this race, with high track temps making it a bit tricky to go from Point A to Point B. Mike Kimmis was low qualifer but broke and wasn't able to run on Saturday. Josh Long also broke (lifter?) during his 1st qualifying attempt, which put him out early as well.
With his win at this race, Steve George moved to #1 in points with 223, with Aaron York hot on his heels with 218! The points have been tallied for this race and are available on the Points page.
